What is Plasma Cutting?

Plasma cutting is a method of flame cutting that uses a channel of compressed, superheated, electrically ionized gas to cut steel materials. This method makes precise, highly accurate cuts on materials, particularly those less than 1.5” thick.

Advantages and Disadvantages of Oxy-Fuel Cutting

Compared to other flame cutting processes, such as oxy fuel cutting, plasma cutting is a more precise and quicker method for cutting steel plate materials that fit within its optimum range, which tend to be thinner materials. However, plasma cutting is less effective when used to cut materials above its ideal thickness range.
