Leeco® Steel, the largest supplier of steel plate in North America, announces that Amy Craychee, Director of Marketing, and Tom Murray, Account Manager, were nominated for the 2020 SMU NexGen Leadership Award. Ms. Craychee was one of five finalists.

The NexGen Leadership Award recognizes young, emerging leaders within the greater steel community. SMU selected finalists based on their innovation, leadership and significant contributions to organizational success.

“Amy and Tom came to Leeco Steel and quickly emerged as power players within our marketing and sales departments,” said Jason Fredstrom, Executive Vice President. “We view them as some of our rising leaders that will play a significant role in taking this company to the next level.”

Ms. Craychee joined Leeco Steel in 2018 as Marketing Manager in Leeco’s Lisle, IL office and was recently promoted to Director of Marketing. She was nominated and named a finalist of this year’s NexGen Leadership Award for her innovative marketing strategies that helped Leeco improve its customer experiences.

Mr. Murray joined Leeco Steel in 2017 as a sales representative based in Leeco’s Oshkosh, WI sales office and was recently promoted to Account Manager. He was nominated for this year’s NexGen Leadership Award for his contribution to the expansion of Leeco’s reach in the northern United States and Canada.

Nominees were honored in a virtual ceremony on August 26 that took place during the 2020 CRU SMU Steel Summit. Stephen Serling, Vice President at Quality Metals Stamping, was named the winner of the 2020 NexGen Leadership Award.
