S890 European Standard Steel
S890 Super Fine Grain Structural Steel Plate
S890 structural steel plate is a super high strength, fine grain structural steel. Offering higher minimum yield strength (890 N/mm2) than the S690 and a 130,000 KSI minimum yield point, it combines strength with excellent weldability and formability.
S890 structural steel plate meets design and fabrication challenges for modern heavy equipment such as heavy haul trailers, cranes booms, truck frames and logging & construction equipment as well as design fabrications that exceed the capabilities of S690. S890 offers design opportunities for weight reduction and increased payload and is more “user friendly” for today’s modern fabrication methods.
The tolerances for this Euronorm specification can be found in EN-10029 and EN-10064. Typical thickness ranges are from 3/16” (5mm) to 4” (100mm) thick.
