C1020 Steel Plate
C1020 steel plate is carbon steel plate with a standard specification covering structural quality carbon steel plates furnished to chemical composition requirements. C1020 steel plates are usually supplied in the as rolled condition. The plates are available in several standard grades and non-standard grades. When steel is to be welded, it is presupposed that a welding procedure suitable for the grade of steel and intended use or service will be utilized. See appendix X3 of specification A6/A6M for information on weldability.
Chemical Requirements:
- Carbon Range - .18 to .23
- Manganese Range - .30 to .60
- Phosphorous - .035 max
- Sulfur - .040 max
