140,000 KSI Yield Strength Alloy Quenched and Tempered Steel Plate
140,000 KSI (960 Mpa) is a high strength structural grade used in applications that require greater design strength compared to commonly available 100,000 psi minimum yield steels (ASTM A514). This grade offers a higher minimum yield (140,000 psi) and tensile (142,000 psi) strength combined with good toughness and excellent weldability & formability. It also offers certain opportunities for weight reduction in parts for increased payload in the finished unit.
This grade is suitable for heavy equipment such as haul trailers, crane booms, truck frames and logging & construction equipment as well as design fabrications that exceed the capabilities of A514.
