Alloy Quenched & Tempered (Q&T) Steel Plate

Alloy Quenched & Tempered (Q&T) Steel Plate

Alloy quenched and tempered (Q&T) steel plate is created with the necessary hardness and durability to be used in applications that must withstand severe impact and abrasion.

The Q&T process involves bringing steel plate to an extremely high temperature and rapidly cooling with water (quenching), then re-heating to a below-critical temperature and cooling at normal air temperatures. The result is increased hardness and strength. Learn more about this process.

Leeco® Steel supplies a range of quenched and tempered steel plate grades to manufacturers and construction companies who use the material to build highly-durable, often non-structural products, such as dump bodies, construction buckets, hauling and lifting equipment and more.

While ASTM does specify chemical composition for some grades of Q&T steel, many Q&T grades are simply certified to yield and tensile strengths.

Mechanical/physical property tests and chemical requirement certification documents are supplied to customers with every order whenever available.
